There is a growing interest in using a grow closet or shed for your hydroponics growing area. Although you can turn any space into a hydroponics garden, many prefer using an all in one assembled closet or shed to hide the look of a garden and to maximize results anywhere in their house. When building your own or buying a grow closet, there are many ways in which is can benefit your plants, but also several things to remember which could harm your plants if not given proper attention. 
One advantage to using a grow closet is that light produced from artificial lighting is kept within the closet. Using HPS or MH lighting is very bright and can be an eye sore if not contained when growing in your house. Most already assembled cabinets and sheds will be sure to block out all light escaping through cracks. Also, you can line the inside of a closet with reflective material such as mylar or black and white plastic. This will utilize lighting efficiently by making it available all around your plants. 
When growing plants hydroponically in any confined place, you must pay attention to the atmosphere within your space. High intensity lighting, electrical pumps etc. will cause the temperature to increase steadily and proper ventilation is a must. Most pre made closets will already have this built in or use lighting that creates minimal heat. If building your own though, make sure to monitor this closely to avoid poor results.
